Reading Torah-Haftorah
Reading Torah and Haftorah
Services at Adath Israel are enhanced by the participation of volunteer Torah and Haftarah readers.
To sign up for a Torah or Haftarah reading at Adath, please use the following Google Sheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Icm-IvIqs7ftGaWGxvmEg0iCI0J1yFeLW0M134XMPgw/edit?usp=sharing
All you need to do to sign up is write your name in the Reader column for the aliyah you wish to read.
Here are some resources to help you prepare your reading:
- A Conservative synagogue in Dallas has a site with the Triennial Torah readings for every aliyah in the three-year cycle: https://www.shearith.org/torah-and-haftarah-readings.html
- The HebCal website also has the Triennial Torah readings for every aliyah in the three-year cycle: https://hebcal.com/sedrot/
- You can find a tikkun page with the text as well as an audio recording. Please note that Adath always reads the Annual, not the Triennial Maftir, even in years one and two. To find the text and recording of the Annual Maftir visit the following website:

If you need further help preparing your reading, please let Rabbi Adler (rabbiadler@adathisraelnj.org) know. He would be happy to schedule a time to practice and work with the Torah in the sanctuary.
Rabbi Brad Hoffman is the coordinator for the scheduling of Torah and Haftarah readings. If you have any questions please contact him (priussavvy@comcast.net) or Rabbi Adler.
